A page from my blibliography of emily dickenson

I found a syllabus on comparing emily dickenson to elizabeth bishop on google. So, naturally, i bought the books. The one in particular in which i would like to discuss is Mary Loeffelholz Dickenson and the Boundaries of feminist theory.

Here is a section I find extremely insightful. Here Loeffelholz asserts that dickenson sees nature as male, and in the following poems she sees him as a male peddler.

I robbed the woods (dash here but i don't have a key for that)
the thrusting woods
the unexpecting trees
brought out the Burrs and Moseses
My fantasy to please
i scanned their trinkets curious (dash here)
I gasped i bore away
what will the solems hemlock
what will the oak tree say?

lecture on emily dickenson from the forum network

http://forum-network.org/lecture/emily-dickinson-my-wars-are-laid-away-books

this is a lecture on "the secret LIfe of emily dickenson" compared with her poem "My wars are laid away in book."

this is an excellent lecture. I love how it brings the college lecture to the home, for those of us that are distance education learners, like myself, at Thomas Edison. So much is added to a course when you can seee a lecture in the privacy of your own home and even in your pajamas!!!

This blog is not a class project. It is my own montoge of things about emily dickenson. She is one of my favorite poets.
